Overview

The Leonardo AW139 at a glance

The AW139 seats 15 passengers in high-density or six to eight in VVIP configuration. Two Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6C-67C engines deliver 1,679 shp each. Category A performance with full one-engine-inoperative hover capability makes it the default choice for elevated helipads (hospitals, city rooftops, offshore rigs) in most operator fleets.

Questions

Leonardo AW139 FAQ

AW139 vs H145?
The AW139 is 60 percent larger, has 40 percent more range, and 20 percent more cruise. It costs 40 to 50 percent more to charter but carries almost twice the passengers. Choose AW139 for 10+ passengers, offshore or high-density executive shuttles.

Where is it built?
Leonardo Helicopters at Vergiate, Italy and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Still in production.
Runway required?
None. Helipad or level ground with sufficient rotor clearance.
