It reduces vibration versus the original four-blade H145 by 40 percent, increases payload by 150 kg, and improves hot and high performance. Late-build ACH145s all have five blades.
Is it certified for IFR and night ops?
Yes, single-pilot IFR and full night VFR. Offshore installations are common in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
H145 vs AW139?
The AW139 is roughly 40 percent larger (15 passengers vs 9), has 100 kt more cruise, and 100 nm more range. The H145 is more manoeuvrable, easier to land at constrained sites, and 30 percent lower operating cost.
