On chartering from São Paulo
São Paulo is Latin America's business-aviation capital. Brazil operates 1,103 business jets, second only to the United States, and São Paulo is the operational centre of that fleet. Four airports serve the metro. Congonhas sits 8 km from downtown but is capped at 30 operations per hour, closes at 22:30 with no overtime, and offers no ramp parking for non-commercial flights. Campo de Marte covers helicopter traffic and light-turboprop movements. Catarina is the slot-free executive gateway 50 km northwest, and Guarulhos handles ultra-long-range international arrivals on a 3,700 m runway. The right airport turns on the mission profile more than passenger preference.
The parking constraint at Congonhas defines the empty-leg pattern. With no ramp parking for non-commercial flights, crews either overnight in a private hangar at USD 1,000 to 1,500 per night or reposition out immediately. Guarulhos, Campo de Marte and Catarina all absorb that reposition traffic, which produces short-sector empty-leg supply within the metro. The Rio de Janeiro shuttle at 0h 46m is the most active bidirectional pairing in the region, and the Buenos Aires and Punta del Este corridors follow. All are priced attractively when they line up with a scheduled reposition.
São Paulo has the world's largest civil helicopter fleet, 411 registered aircraft with about 2,200 movements a day and 260 rooftop helipads. That density changes how the private-aviation product looks. Business-jet passengers routinely transfer from Congonhas or Guarulhos to a downtown rooftop by helicopter, which cuts a 45-minute traffic-bound drive to a 10-minute flight. JetAlto quotes the helicopter transfer as an option alongside the fixed-wing quote when the destination is on Avenida Paulista, Faria Lima or Vila Olímpia.
The F1 Grand Prix at Interlagos in November is the single biggest annual demand spike. Congonhas ramps fill at least six weeks ahead and operators typically drop and reposition to Guarulhos or Campinas. For that week JetAlto quotes Catarina first because it is slot-free and 60 minutes from the circuit, then Guarulhos as the ULR arrival, and finally a Rio de Janeiro overnight reposition when Congonhas cannot hold the aircraft. The quote states the delivered door-to-door time so the trade between fields is explicit before you commit to a booking.
