Dubai to Moscow by class

3,686 km northbound is a five hour sector that a super-midsize covers direct and a heavy jet covers direct with margin, which matters because routings on this corridor rarely follow the great circle. The bigger constraint is not the aircraft, it is which operators and registrations can legally and practically fly it, and that determines the quote more than range does.

Dubai departures

DWC
Al Maktoum International

A 4,500 m runway and the largest business-aviation apron in the UAE, 45 km south-west of Downtown, with DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, ExecuJet Middle East and Jetex on the field. Dubai remains one of the few major hubs with regular scheduled and private service to Moscow.

Jetex VIP terminal, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim FBO and the ExecuJet Middle East lounge
DXB
Dubai International

12 km from Downtown with slot-controlled general aviation at a premium over DWC. Used when the passenger connects off a scheduled flight or the aircraft is already positioned there.

Moscow arrivals

VKO
Moscow Vnukovo

The default business-aviation arrival for Moscow. Two intersecting runways, 06/24 at 3,500 m with ILS CAT II and 01/19 at 3,060 m with ILS CAT I. Vnukovo-3, operated by VIPPORT, is one of the largest dedicated business-aviation centres in Europe, with roughly 560,000 sq m of apron and capacity for about 150 aircraft.

OSF
Ostafyevo International Business Airport

Gazpromavia's business airport south of Moscow with a 2,058 m by 48 m runway, PCN 24, so it suits midsize and smaller heavy aircraft rather than a fully loaded Global. Terminal throughput is 40 passengers per hour on international flights. A genuine alternate when Vnukovo-3 parking is full.

SVO
Moscow Sheremetyevo

Terminal A, run by A-Group, is the second real business-aviation FBO in Moscow, about 30 minutes from the centre via the M-11 with its own hangars and de-icing. Worth using when the passenger's destination is north of the city.

FAQ

Common questions on this route

How long is the flight from Dubai to Moscow by private jet?
About 5 hours direct on a heavy jet and 5h 10m on a super-midsize. Actual times run longer than the great-circle figure because of routing and Moscow terminal-area restrictions.
Can Western operators fly Dubai to Moscow?
Generally no. EU, UK and US measures restrict flights connected to Russian persons and entities, and operators based in those jurisdictions keep their fleets off this corridor. The aircraft that fly it are typically Russian, CIS or Middle East based, which limits availability on any given date.
What does Dubai to Moscow cost?
Super-midsize aircraft run $52,000-68,000 one-way and heavy jets $68,000-90,000. Pricing on this corridor is less stable than on comparable five hour sectors because the eligible fleet is small.
Which Moscow airport do private jets use?
Vnukovo (VKO) and specifically the Vnukovo-3 business aviation centre run by VIPPORT, which is the largest such facility in Russia. Sheremetyevo Terminal A, run by A-Group, and Ostafyevo (OSF) are the practical alternates. Domodedovo has a business aviation centre operated by UTG Private Aviation.
Is Bykovo (BKA) still an option?
No. Bykovo ceased operations in October 2010 and was removed from the state register of civil aerodromes in 2011. The terminal has been demolished and the site is used for warehousing. It still appears in older airport databases, which is why it sometimes gets quoted.
Is Russian airspace safe to fly into?
EASA advises against operating in Russian airspace west of 60 degrees East at all flight levels, a recommendation first issued in January 2025 and since extended. Operators still flying the corridor do so under their own risk assessments. We tell clients the position plainly rather than around it.
What about insurance?
War-risk cover for Russian destinations is restricted and some underwriters decline it. Any quote you receive should state explicitly what cover is in place, and that is a question worth asking before comparing prices.
